This is not my full-time job, so it doesn't really get as much attention from me as it should get. I finally got a chance to sit down and fight with Drupal a little bit to get some things that were quite severely broken working again.
One of these things is the forums. Sorry to everyone who has tried and failed to post. In my lazyness I didn't even check to see if they worked when I threw them onto the website... What's that you say?... why, yes, I am a professional. Why do you ask?...
I also fixed the login screen that was broken. The sidebar one worked, but if you ever tried to login via the login page, it would clear the fields with no explanation... yeah... awesome.
Anyway, I'm going to start a forum for crap that's broken. Feel free to post anything that doesn't work for you... if you can.
A new feature has just been added. You can now go to the forums to ask about a commercial or perhaps impart your knowledge on us less enlightened ones.
There is also a misc. section for anything else you want to talk about. Politics, TV shows, your doughnut preferences. I don't care.
Do you like sitting on your couch, watching TV, and surfing the Internet? Do you like money? You may be qualified to contribute to the CouchSource, believe it or not! We are looking for folks that can commit a little time to adding and updating content on the site.
High school age and above is preferred, and you must be able to be contacted by telephone and email. Of course, television and Internet is required, but location doesn't matter.
If you are interested or have any questions, please contact the bossman at nate@couchsource.net
Registration is now open to the public, so anyone can now sign up and start posting comments and new commercials. The commercials will be moderated, so please make sure your info is correct and your links work. This also means that your commercials will not be active immediately, so please be patient.
If everything goes well, a lot of cool things are going to start happening here, so visit back often for things like a forum section and downloadable playlists of the top rated music on the site.
Anyone looking for past iPod commercial songs, you can find them here. I don't think I could have done it better.
Today's a big day. CouchSource.net is online and working. It's still in the testing phase, so there are still many bugs to work out, but most of them are
aesthetic, issues with IE. If all of you just used Firefox, my job would be much easier.
The login is still closed to the public, but soon you or anyone will be able to post comments on posted commercials and even post your own commercials! We want this site to be a great resource for music found in commercials, but we can't do it without you!
So, CS has been working for about 2 hours now so it is time for a first post! This was the commercial that kind of gave me the idea for the site. It's a catchy song and I didn't know the name of it until I looked it up (kind of a pain before this brilliant web site).
